A definate Labor Day

What a weekend! We left bright and early Saturday for a nice weekend at the beach. We got there and set up the tent trailer. Can you say a little out of place? Our trailer is just perfect for us. Small and very portable. Next to all of the other RV's, our trailer disappeared. It was a funny sight.

We had lots of fun at the beach. Saturday it was windy but the kids, both little and big, had fun building stuff.
After everyone was frozen we went and warmed up. Jill and I had to run to Astoria because the regulator on the stove blew off and tried to tag us. With not being able to have a campfire, we needed the stove. We ended up lost and that was just the beginning of the fun.

On Sunday we decided to hike up to Cape Disappointment Interpretive Center then to the Light House. It was wonderful. Here are a couple of the fun pictures.

Monday we went to the beach and the weather was wonderful! We had lots of fun, then rinsed off and had fun in the pool. We packed up and started to head out.

We packed up and headed out. We got to the Dismal Nitch rest area and had to pull over because the van was loosing power. Can you say, memories of Memorial Day??? AGGG, not knowing if it is the fuel pump, fuel filter, bad gas, catalitic converter, or muffler. Big wide range of things don't you think? Instead of continueing home and risking ruining the van more, we called a tow truck. Well, Jill and Todd did. They once again bailed us out with AAA. I think we need to invest in it.

Being the smart people we are, Rick and Todd stayed with the van and trailer and Jill and I took the 7 kids in the RV, and started home. Ohh adventure, nothing else can go wrong can it? AND NO, no one said those words either. I didn't even think them...not sure who did. This is what happened 1 hour after we left the men:

No kidding, we had a blow out on Hwy 4. On any other vehicle I would have tackled changing the tire, but a RV, no way. We once again called AAA (they have now officially paid for their membership). It took almost 2 hours for someone to come and help us. But the view was worth it:

We made it home finally about midnight. The men made it home before we did. That was another adventure with the tow truck driver. We won't go there. If you really want to know, you can ask Rick.

Wesley had his surgery today. Everything went smoothly and he is home resting. The port is out and we won't have to worry about infections as much in that line.

We hope that everyone had a wonderful weekend and holiday! Thank you Todd and Jill for bailing us out once again!

What is it with flat tires last weekend? We got one too! Ohh, your pictures make me miss the beach! It was like looking at pictures of home...except I guess I don't live there anymore! Glad you guys made it home safe!
